Barefoot curiosities that you haven't been told (and that will make you rethink your shoes)
No, it's not "just a shoe"
When I tell someone that a shoe can change your posture… and even your jaw bite , the reaction is usually the same:
“Excuse me? What do you mean a shoe changes my jaw?”
And I don't blame them.
We've been wearing the wrong shoes our entire lives , and no one has ever explained it to us. Barefoot isn't a strange trend; it's a return to what was always meant to be : free feet, aligned posture, and natural movement.
Your jaw and your feet are connected
Yes, it sounds like science fiction, but it's pure biomechanics.
The position of your feet affects the alignment of your spine, which in turn alters the position of your head and jaw. Poorly positioned feet can cause tension that leads to bruxism, neck pain, or even bite problems.
“Normal” is not always healthy.
I recently went to talk to a traditional shoe store to propose a collaboration.
I explained to them that our shoes have a wide toe box, zero drop, and a flexible sole , and they replied:
“That’s not healthy, something else is normal.”
And that's the problem: the "normal" thing for the industry is to sell what it's always sold, even if it's detrimental to the health of your feet. Fortunately, more and more people are waking up and changing that perception.
Podiatrists are on our side
Not all, but many, and more and more.
I've spoken to several podiatrists—especially holistic ones—who have confessed to me that they themselves have been fooled by traditional footwear their entire lives .
They now support barefoot because they have seen how it improves posture, strengthens feet, and reduces musculoskeletal problems.
At VoaRoots, in fact, our footwear will be sealed and certified by podiatrists .
We have been “domesticating” the foot for centuries
The human foot is designed to move freely, but conventional footwear has locked it into a narrow, high prison.
This has reduced the strength of the foot muscles, limited the mobility of the toes, and altered the natural way of walking.
The good news: the body is incredibly adaptable. With barefoot, you can regain much of that strength and mobility in just a few months.
Barefoot is also for your everyday life
Most barefoot shoes on the market are designed for running, hiking, or sports activities. But what about the rest of the day?
I myself spent months looking for a barefoot that I liked for dressing up, working, or going out to dinner , and I didn't find anything.
That's why I decided to create VoaRoots: barefoot with urban style, for any moment .
A movement with soul
Barefoot is not a passing trend, it is a shift in consciousness.
It's understanding that every step you take affects your entire body, that true comfort isn't cushioning your feet, but allowing them to move as they were designed to.
At VoaRoots, we're clear: health starts from the bottom up, but style isn't negotiable.
